‘The Collector’, Words & Noises’ long-awaited new EP, is out today, Friday 12th August.
It is available to stream on Spotify and Apple Music, and to download from iTunes, Amazon and Google Play.
The four new songs were recorded in April by Tim Thomas at Blueprint Studios, Manchester. They were mixed in May by Andy Walter at Abbey Road Studios, London. The artwork for the EP, alongside the promotional art for the tracks ‘Play Your Cards’ and ‘Rewind’, was created by Luke Thornhill, who also designed the artwork for Words & Noises’ début EP ‘Beating Heart’. The EP features guest appearances from Rory McDonnell (additional vocals) and Ewart Hodge (viola) – both longstanding friends of the band.
It’s been a busy few months for the boys. Following an EP preview show in Manchester in May, they hit the campaign trail hard, with numerous radio appearances, alongside interviews and features in a variety of press. More recently, they played a trio of shows in London, Liverpool and Manchester in the run up to release day.
Tonight, Chris will conclude the intial launch campaign with an appearance on London Live – the capital’s local TV station with a daily reach in excess of 230,000 viewers. Chris will be playing two songs off the EP and chatting about the new music on their primetime show between 6pm-8pm. It is available on Freeview channel 8, Sky 117 and Virgin 159, as well as streaming on their website for those not in London.
